172: Artificial Intelligence and Running

Artificial intelligence (AI) has been around for years, and it not only impacts us as humans, but also impacts us specifically as runners. Rain Wang, last week’s Runner of the Week, takes a deeper dive into what AI, virtual reality, augmented reality, and 3-D printing are. We discuss what AI can and can not do, the technology that already exists that can affect what we see on the run, and when to rely on technology versus communication. You’ll hear some on-air brainstorming that really showcases the power of technology.

Our go-to, real-food dietitian, Serena Marie, RD, discusses the three body types—endomorph, mesomorph, and ectomorph—and how these body types affect weight gain and loss. Serena takes a deep dive and gives some “love” to protein, which is a macronutrient that we don’t talk about that often. When it’s time to talk about something good, I hear about the Instant Pot, which sounds like the greatest thing ever! Who knew that you could cook tasty food in just ten minutes?! Serena says she is obsessed with it, and it’s easy to understand why.
