65: Disney Race Recaps

We discuss the Family Fun Run 5k with previous guest Rebecca Farrell and the Princess Half Marathon with Becky Kotsifas. The ladies share the race courses, the weather, the memorable experiences and how the races compared to other runDisney events.

Serena Marie, RD, discusses how having a low iron count affects sports performance and what foods to eat to bring up iron counts.

I discuss my recent free trial of Apera Bags.  These bags are great. I love having the tech pack for going to the gym and then going someplace to do some work with my laptop.  I can get all my important gear in one place and not weigh down one of my shoulders. There are plenty of pockets to separate the wet stuff from the dry stuff along with a special compartment for all of your cords. The tech pack has a super cushiony back to it and also has the option of sliding the pack on the handle extension part of a suitcase.   This will really come in handy when taking the train up to Boston.  When I have to leave my seat, I can simply take my tech pack as it will have all of my "important stuff" in one place.

I also tried the Apera sling tote which has plenty of space for wet and dry stuff, shoes, pockets for make up, toiletries, and just like the tech pack, an additional bag that is specifically for your sweatiest of sweaty stuff.  Just what a hot yoga, running girl who goes here, there everywhere wants to have in a sports bag! Our friend and Runner of the Week from episode 61,  The Runner Dad, loves his Apera bag too.

Vinnie Tortorich comes on for his monthly spot and brings his friend, Rich Roll, along for the ride.

The book of the month for April is revealed:
Spark: The Revolutionary New Science of Exercise and the Brain
