163: Dean Karnazes on Professions, Passions, and Running (Re-run)

One of the most popular episodes ever is when Dean Karnazes came by for his first run in November 2014 and discussed how he went from a white-collar job to a professional athlete, why he’s passionate about Girls on the Run, what a normal day looks like for him,, and why he’s excited by Run World. We specifically talk about his third book, Run! 26.2 Stories of Blisters and Bliss.

Since this is a re-run, I give updates on The Runner of the Week, Leeann Faust’s, races and more info about a fat-adapted diet. Dean and I recorded an episode that goes live on January 5, 2017, to discuss his fourth book, The Road to Sparta: Reliving the Ancient Battle and Epic Run That Inspired the World's Greatest Footrace, and the status on his quest to run a marathon in every country in the world in one year.

Serena discusses one of listeners’ favorite topics—fat-adapted eating. You’ll get the lowdown on what it is and the foods that help sustain a lower-carb diet.

The Running Lifestyle Show is looking for some fuel that will help keep the show running. We have awesome gifts for you when you support the podcast. You can get “the lowdown” by running over here.
