  • Minerals: Calcium, magnesium, phosphorous are lost when sweating during runs and bone broth can help you recover these key minerals.

  • Simply, bone broth is just homemade broth using animal bones. Ask your butcher for leftover bones, usually inexpensive to purchase. Use, when able, bones from grass-fed animals.

  • Make broth simply by combining bones, water, a generous amount of salt, Bragg’s apple cider vinegar, and spices if desired. Serena makes hers in a Crockpot for 24-48hours.

  • Magnesium deficiency can manifest as salt cravings or weird muscle twitches/cramps. Serena likes natural calm for supplemental magnesium, but bone broth is a good source too.

  • Gelatin- great source of amino acids including glycine, associated with reduced joint pain

  • Hyaluronic Acid- Synovial fluid, that slippery lubricant inhabiting our joint capsules and making them glide safely and smoothly together, is mostly hyaluronic acid. Studies on oral provision of hyaluronic acid have been associated with improved outcomes for horses with joint disease.

  • Chondroitin Sulfate- usually paired with glucosamine- not a lot of evidence but people swear by it for joint pain

  • You can have broth come straight to your door from The Brothery
