271: Priming Your Day to Lead an Epic Life

Kristoffer Carter, also known as KC, is one of these guys you don’t forget—and in a very good way! I met KC when I attended Camp Good Life Project in 2016. KC was the camp’s emcee, meditation teacher, workshop facilitator, and Chief Comedian.

KC is also a dad, husband, and executive leadership coach.

If you haven’t listened to the podcast before, welcome! And if you’re here for another episode, welcome back. This is a LONG conversation that zig-zags, boomerangs back, and drops a TON of valuable, potentially life-changing ideas.

During our wide-ranging conversation, we discussed:

  • Why we should have a personal mission statement

  • How KC structured his morning routine so he can show up to the day as the person he wants to be

  • How to prime yourself so you can perform at peak performance, just like an Olympic athlete

  • Why you should ask your closest friends and family what your essence is, and how that can guide you when setting themes for your year

  • How to set themes rather than goals

  • How to give yourself an “inside hug”

  • How to work through grief and put it into meaning

  • How to interrupt a negative thought pattern

  • How to create a plan for an epic decade

  • KC’s thoughts about my 2020 Ta Da List and how I can give them more clarity and greater height
