245: Coaching on the Run

Our friend and go-to former Navy SEAL Jeff Webb--also a coaching client of mine--is back for his third run. This is a first-ever episode on the podcast because it was actually done on the run. Really! It was one big experiment that had its ups (so much fun to run and talk!) and downs (I got out of breath!). We run and discuss:

  • Why he chose to write an obituary and complete a life wheel

  • His VIP experience at the NYC Marathon

  • Running one of the coldest Boston Marathons EVER

  • How using a running coach for the first time made all the difference in pursuing a PR

Serena Marie, RD, and I discuss:

  • How giving to others makes us happy, specifically when we’re teaching and coaching

  • Why we need to focus on omega-3s

  • Why fatty fish and seaweed are very bioavailable

  • Other good sources of omega-3s, such as chia, flax, and hemp seeds

A new Flourishing Skills group is launching in just a few weeks. This is a time to focus on what will help you spiral up and learn new tools for handling everyday stress. The group meets virtually every week for 10 weeks to discuss our goals and to learn an evidence-based, scientifically informed tool to lead a flourishing life. Skills are discussed and then practiced. I offer my background as both a positive psychology coach and a runner to guide the group. Because space is limited, reach out to me at kari@therunninglifestyle.com to schedule a time to talk about you being part of this group.
